by Matt Fairfax · 05/26/2006 (9:32 pm) · 30 comments
With some great help from the community and Ron Yacketta we are finally closing in on having the Linux version of TGE 1.4 ready.
You can snag the release candidate for the demo here.

This is the very latest version of TGE 1.4.2 so for those of you eager to get your hands on all of the new bugfixes and improvements you are gonna have to try it out on Linux for a bit!

Of course, I would have posted something about it once I found out. :) It's quite cool to see the community effort pay off for this & we are now seeing the same for TGB too with the latest beta.

I will be redoing the TGE-L SDK installer later this afternoon/evening and sending it to MAtt for posting. Will also work with GG to ensure CVS is updated to 1.4.2 for TGE-L etc.

is that a DEBUG build, cause its slow as hell on my linux laptop?
Previous TGE builds ran a lot smoother, but the last time I tried was like 2 yrs ago...
I've installed another linux version since then, so I'm just wondering... maybe its the driver
(thats a pretty old Geforce2Go btw., but it was really playable back in the days)

Nevermind, it was my driver, had to install the Nvidia package, completely forgot about that when re-installing my system... works like a charm now, and thanks for your linux efforts btw.! :)

The only time I have seen that is when the downloaded file was corrupt. Have you tried downloading it again?

I sent e-mail to GG regarding 1.5 and if they want me to help on that front with a TGE-L; unfortunatly all e-mails have gone un-replied to :(
