11/19/09 IRC Hour
Greetings Community! Every 3rd Thursday of a month we have an IRC Hour for the community. Today will be the last one held in Eugene, OR, birthplace of GarageGames (but not the absolute last one ever)
Where Is It?:
Server: irc.maxgaming.net

When Is It?:
3:00pm PST
(6:00pm EST)

I feel the need to post this twice for some people who keep forgetting.
What Is It?: IRC Hour is a chance for the community to have real-time talks with Torque employees and our site admins, Scott Burns and David Montgomery-Blake. We will be using the IRC channel hosted by MaxGaming OnLine. Today is a very special IRC Hour. It is the last one held in Eugene, OR, birthplace of GarageGames. With that in mind, we have invited quite a few special guests...
Confirmed Guests: Alex Scarborough, Pat Wilson, Tim Aste, and Ben Garney. I would not be surprised if quite a few other old school GG names pop up.
What It Is Not: Debugging other people's code, marathon one-on-one help sessions, soap-box rants, etc.

1. Get an IRC client, such as Chatzilla or mIRC or HydraIRC
2. Run the client
3. Type /server irc.maxgaming.net, press enter
4. Type /join #GarageGames, press enter
5. Type /nick Kory, press enter

This was, by far, the greatest IRC Hour to date. We had the highest number of people (80), longest discussion, the most amount of special guests, and the most projects discussed. Awesome last IRC Hour for 2009 =) The transcripts were actually separated into 4 different files. It will take me a little while to convert them.

I posted the blog at 10:25am (PST). IRC Hour happened at 3:00pm PST (as it usually does). It actually ran for 1 hour and 50 min due to overwhelming attendance.This was, by far, the greatest IRC Hour to date. We had the highest number of people (80), longest discussion, the most amount of special guests, and the most projects discussed. Awesome last IRC Hour for 2009 =) The transcripts were actually separated into 4 different files. It will take me a little while to convert them.

Unfortunately I can't join the IRC hours (time shift, too late for me). Could somebody please post the a log?

You should try to make them earlier, or on Fridays in the future. But then you'd all have to wake up before 3PM PST...

My alarm didn't work this morning (stupid design flaw I am going to yell at Apple about ;), so I got enough sleep despite watching the IRC hour :PYou should try to make them earlier, or on Fridays in the future. But then you'd all have to wake up before 3PM PST...
