TGB To Torque2D Migration tips

by David Helmer · in Torque Game Builder · 11/09/2009 (6:29 pm) · 6 replies

I really want to continue testing concepts out in TGB, but it'd really help to know what I should be focusing on for when Torque 2D is released.

For example, should I avoid behaviors because they'll be replaced by some other concept in torque 2D?

We don't know anything about Torque2D other than that it has realtime networking and is likely a 2D system on top of the Torque (2d / 3d) core.

Generally though: if you start a game now, remain on the technology you start with and finish it in that. You can always port it later for a sequel

If you're starting a game project on TGB then I assume TGB is good enough to finish what you're doing. I'd personally never plan on changing a platform product whilst in the middle of a project.

I'd say finish your project then consider T2D for your next one. :)

Thanks for the responses, looks like I'll just make a small demo.

Thanks again!

I'm sure I have a virus now, but I had to click on that link and translate the page.

I guess this is the price of a public forum.

I always think that if you really start something up you should finish it no matter how much time it takes..
