Starting my game design career

by J Mills · in General Discussion · 07/01/2004 (1:13 am) · 3 replies

IM 16, me and my friend have great gaming ideas. But aside from those i want to know where to start on my programming. ive been told, "start with pong" i said yeah, that sounds really good. And that's what i wanna do.

What language do i start in, im learning C++ as we speak. i know most languages, very simple ones though.

How do i tie in my programming with the visual side of it. so my program runs in the ball boucning around and not words talking.

ANY HELP is appreciated. Email at LoneDragon25@hotmail.com as well as this registered one. also reply here.

Well, if you're talking C++, you'll be wanting to learn SDL after you learn C++ basics (or even more than basics). Tie in SDL with C++ and you'll be able to make graphics. A great place to get started with SDL would be Cone3D (google it, not sure of link).
