TGB 1.5v3 permenantly screwed up

After playing around with the beta on a hard drive, I installed it to a memory stick because there are two computers I often move between. It worked fine the first couple of times, but then it started crashing every time I tried to start it up. A pop-up window gave the following:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Fatal-ISV: (..\..\source\gui\core\guiCanvas.cc@218)
CreateCanvas: canvas has already been instantiated
--------------------------------------------------------------------
I rebooted, but still got the same error afterwards. I then tried uninstalling TGB altogether (from both the hard drive and the memory stick), reinstalling to the hard drive from scratch and rebooting again afterwards. I still get the same error. I am effectively unable to use TGB on this machine, and am concerned about what other effects this may be having.
Any idea what's going on and how to fix it?

Luke: I had to reinstall twice, as the first time I got an error message claiming that the program was corrupted. But after the second time, it works again. Thanks for the help.
