For me the problem seems to be resolved, but I've heard of others still having an issue. :(

David, I posted back in the middle of the summer that I had spoken with Akema management directly and they were going to try and contact you and Stephen. They wanted this resolved immediately. Whatever became of that? For me the problem seems to be resolved, but I've heard of others still having an issue. :(

I think the problem that GG is suffering is endemic to this kind of enterprises, where the average personel more or less understand about networks and such: the lack of a proper System Administrator.
Guys: GG got the age of majority now, its time to get a sysadmin! someone who actually be specifically in charge of this kind of issues. And the same goes to site administration in general (as in "the bloody search function doesnt work since a couple of years").
Also, if Akamai is not working (apparently it does not only fail in providing a good service, also in providing a decent customer support), then again, its time to change! I know it for sure will be a pain, moving a whole community site can be a nightmare, but after a year is no more valid as an excuse. Its hard to believe, that you dont be able to find a good and fair priced service hosting... last time I look, IAC had a couple of bussines related to internet... :P

Ok guys, has been a year now, and no one up there seems to seriously care about the strugles this means for all of us (beyond David, who do what he can, as the Community Admin). Its time to REALLY do something about this, and I mean do something *besides* keeping David recomending the patch-like solutions that the community found.I think the problem that GG is suffering is endemic to this kind of enterprises, where the average personel more or less understand about networks and such: the lack of a proper System Administrator.

I'm the punching bag to soften the blows to the rest, I think.

Yeah. I'm not a system admin, but we do have them. They're the ones that have been doing the heavy lifting and reporting as I collect information on this. They're working on a large-scale web front and backend upgrade which has been ongoing for quite some time, as well as a ton of other sysadmin-related responsibilities.I'm the punching bag to soften the blows to the rest, I think.

Well then, the fact that there actually ARE sysadmins in charge, is not exactly what I call a point in favour given the situation... and I dont like to complain, so I will not.
...FIX the bloody thing Guys!!!
Thanks.
Yes, I feel better, thank you.
