Light map Editing

Does anyone know how to apply custom pre-baked light maps (baked from an external 3D authoring tool) onto a DIF or DTS file? I had previously considered baking the lighting information directly into the textures but thought that going the route of editing the light maps themselves would give me more control. Unfortunately I cannot find any documentation regarding the manual manipulation or how to even edit light maps and I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. Thanks!

That would be great! Yes I've read through that entire thread and the stuff you are doing sounds awesome (and looks great too). I wasn't sure if that was the place I should post my question considering the thread title wasn't really related to light maps directly. I look forward to trying out your new map2dif_plus.
Thanks again!

For all who are interested, I've got the custom lightmap resource working with TGEA 1.7.0. I still need to do some testing, but it's basically done. I was surprised by how similar the code was to TGE 1.5.2. Actually, the map2dif_plus v1.1 above works; it simply required some simple code changes to the engine. I'm out of town at the moment and don't really have good access to the internet, so it may be a week before I can get a resource up. Anyway, just wanted to let you guys know!
