Question on the documentation

How much of the documentation for TGEA 1.7 is an improvement over TGE? I am currently on 1.4.2 of that engine and I was curious as to what had changed for that.

The documentation included in 1.7 is wicked sweet in comparison. If you've had a gander at the documentation that ships with TorqueX or TGB, you have a pretty good idea about the quality of it. It doesn't cover everything, but we're working on it!

Now the only darn thing is I need to upgrade to 1.5 for TGE and then purchase TGEA for the upgraded price.
I kinda had hoped you would have offered an upgrade path to TGEA from 1.42 but I guess that doesn't bother me as much. I can save up for it.

Upgrading is a bitch. Why bother.

When you crash you have to re-install ALL 1000 upgrades that you bought! (Windows!).

Just skip the hassle of the upgrades and buy the current version.

Um, the TGEA upgrade license is just a price discount for people that already have purchased TGE ... its not like an ACTUAL upgrade/patch you have to apply to the TGE install ... its the same normal TGE download/installer that everyone gets.

The documentation, I'll testify, is indeed wicked sweet. MILEs better than the standard stuff.

Besides fantastic reference for things like script functions and engine classes it has a great high level introduction to the components of the engine, how they all work together and what their role is within the grand scheme. I think if you're new to torque you're going to have a much better time if you read through those first. I've been working with the engine for about 3 years and I learned new things. :D

Great job the documentation guys!
