But what are the packs that I can use with TGEA 1.7?

We need a selection of new TGEA art, that takes advantages of the new shaders and has the normal mapping and long list of other items that would serve as a good example and build block for alot of starter players.
Poly Soup has pretty much removed those packs from use. Creating a polysoup specific pack with DTS building would be nice to see. But as we can seem 99% of the are DIFs. (including the FPS pack). These are just a few of the items that might be nice to see. Do we really have to use 3-5 year old packs. Same with the other packs, a updated Tank model might be nice to see.

I think that it would be benificial for someone to work on some decent Interior based art packs. I mean looking at the list, yes there is the FPS pack which is wonderful. but all of Tim Astes stuff, while is great, is awesome for standin stuff or to modify for your own use. Its old. Like Todd said most of the packs were designed for TGE in mind, but can be used in TGEa also. Most of them ship with source art so it would be a simple matter to update the art content. There are several packs already that have been "updated" to make use of features available in TGEa, I'm sure a little research and blog reading will reveal them. You can also take a look Apparatus's packs (Bridges, Environment, Props, Doors, Kaboom, Textures), they come in TGE and TGEa versions.

I agree, and I actually have some polysoup stuff in the works.
By the way, my FPS pack is not DIF based. It is all dts.
I have never been a fan of DIF construction. And while it has it's place, things will move away from that completely. It's just a matter of time.

The product team is crazy busy, but I imagine they will take a look at this sooner or later.

I just email Derek at Garage Games about this and the need to have some sort of indication on the main product page for the content packs, so that at a glance people could see which packs supported which engines. The product team is crazy busy, but I imagine they will take a look at this sooner or later.

There are a number of packs that are designed to support TGEA, but you are correct, most support TGE.
Unfortunately I don't have a list of the TGEA packs, but I am sure others will chime in with that info.
One example I can give, I just recently ported my FPS Environment Pack to TGEA.
Also it is worth mentioning that "most" art assets in the various packs should more or less work in TGEA, they just won't have normal maps and such for TGEA to take advantage of.
Hope this helps.
